THE STORY BEHIND THE COMPANY
The seed for this company was planted the day the owner's Father, Michael Simms, died of Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer on July 6th, 2019. Mary watched him suffer for 20 years prior to his diagnosis with extreme back pain caused by a workplace injury that she could do nothing to help him with. When the family received his cancer diagnosis in January 2019, Mary then watched her father suffer not only from his back pain but with bi-weekly chemo treatments, that wreaked havoc on his mind & body. Mary's focus then was to help her Mother & Sister care for him.
Mary's life changed the day he passed away. She then spent the next 8 months trying to make sense of her Father's death. She began meditating daily, finding some sessions lasting for hours, in which she would feel calm, peaceful, & serene afterwards.
Then The 2020 Pandemic hit & Mary's anxiety was uncontrollable, she had always suffered from anxiety but not like this! She was suffering from daily panic attacks; meditation wasn’t an option as she couldn’t even get one deep breath in. Then she remembered Yoga, she had been practicing on and off for 10 years, so she decided to stop focusing on her breath & started focusing on movement – she knew the breath would come eventually. She started practicing Yoga 2x a day, in the mornings to “start her day right” & then in the afternoons to refresh & renew. A year and a half later, she is happy & healthy & has found peace & joy!
It is because of the many years of watching her Dad suffer & the anxiety Mary felt during a world-wide Pandemic, that she decided she wanted to help people feel good & be happy so she started this Virtual Studio to do just that!
